I’m sure you’ll know by now, looking good at all times is a necessity for a sugar baby. During the pursuit of sugar, there’s bound to be spontaneous dates and late-night outs and you definitely don’t want to look like a homeless and hungover Serena Van Der Woodsen at the end of the day.
One thing I’ve learned after meeting all kinds of sugar daddy is to always be prepared – they would come up with all sorts of excuses just to make you stay over and I usually would. But here’s the problem, the last thing I would ever want my sugar daddy to witness is me looking like a total disaster, waking up with greasy hair, pimple breakouts, raccoon eyes, and the worst part, lipstick stains on his bed.
Fear no more sugar sisters, here’s a full list of sugar-proof cosmetics that will definitely make your makeup last throughout the night. A tip before we start, anything that says long-lasting, sweat/smudge/water-proof is your best bet that it will work:
#1 Always start with a lightweight and fast-absorbing primer
A primer is something we all trick ourselves into thinking we don’t really need it at one point, it’s pricey, it’s transparent and it doesn’t really make any difference, right?
WRONG. A primer does make a huge difference and the ground rule of slaying your makeup is to use one. Once you add it to your normal makeup routine, trust me, it will change your life. Not only will it seal your pores and make your fine lines disappear, it also preps your skin for a flawless foundation application, making your makeup last much longer and your skin will be as soft as velvet.
A little reminder, always prime your face AFTER applying your sunscreen or moisturizer.
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, $54.00
Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer, $36.00
#2 Pick a full-coverage and transfer-resistant foundation that lasts up to 24 hours
I cannot stress this enough, it is so important to have a highly pigmented and sweat/water-proof foundation that doesn’t make your skin breakout. The ultimate NO’s when it comes to foundation is picking one that doesn’t matches your skin tone, makes you look patchy or one that will transfer half of your makeup to everything you lie on.
The best way to apply your foundation after moisturizing and priming your face, is to apply it in small amounts to prevent it from looking cakey or flakey. For a smooth and flawless finish, use a damp Beauty Blender or a foundation brush, and instead of thoroughly wiping it with your face, gently pat it until it is perfectly blended.
Remember, a little goes a long way. Come through, holy grails:
Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation, $35.00
Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème, $44.00
#3 Prevent your concealer from creasing with the “baking” technique
Finding the perfect concealer that is creamy, hides your dark circles and imperfections flawlessly and STILL, doesn’t sink into your fine lines making your face all wrinkly at the end of the day is harder than finding a sugar daddy.
For better coverage, instead of applying your concealer in an oval moon-crescent shape, apply it in a triangular shape under your eyes
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, $28.00
To crack the code of creasing, blend the concealer under your eyes with a damp Beauty Blender or any makeup sponge (remember, it has to be WET) then dab the same damp sponge into your setting powder and pat as much powder as you can under your eyes to keep the concealer in place. To bake your face, leave the powder under your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes then swipe away the excess with a makeup brush
Not only will this baking technique prevent your concealer from creasing, the setting powder will also highlight your under eye area and also make your makeup last much longer.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38.00
#4 Achieve eye perfection with the Prime, Proof and Protect three-step program
There’s nothing romantic about waking up next to your sugar daddy with makeup on your face looking like a hideous raccoon the next day. With mascara clumping under your eyes and eyeliner smudging all over your lids, you can only question your life choices of giving in to cheap makeup products at the first place.
To ensure that your eye makeup survives the night, the first thing you need to do is to prime your eyes before applying eyeshadow. Similar to a face primer, an eye primer focuses on keeping your eye makeup in place and prevents it from creasing for up to 24 hours. In simpler terms, your sugar daddy will still be able to appreciate the perfect cut crease you took forever to blend the next day.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, $20.00
It takes a lot of patience and practice to slay the perfect wing liner, trust me on that. But all thanks to Kat Von D, she has made our lives so much easier by inventing a super fine and flexible brush tip for an effortless and precise application. So for those of you who like it “rough”, this smudge-proof and long-wearing eyeliner is a definite holy grail.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, $20.00
For lashes, let’s be honest, it’s almost impossible to find the perfect mascara that defines and lengthens yet isn’t clumpy at the same time. The best tip to prevent raccoon eyes is to always bring along a concealer with you so you can touch up your under eyes whenever you feel like it. For falsies lovers, always prepare a small bottle of eyelash adhesive in your makeup bag just in case if there’s any awkward fall-offs in the middle of the night or you can always opt for eyelash extensions.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara, $21.00
So you’re having a great time with your sugar daddy, but after much spooning and cuddling, the next thing you know is, a part of your eyebrows aren’t on point anymore, which can be pretty annoying. To hold your brow in place for an entire day, always protect your brows with a clear eyebrow gel after you’re done with carving your eyebrows into a masterpiece.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, $22.00
#5 Always finish with a setting spray to make your makeup last all day
Once you’re done with summoning the glowing gods and sculpting your cheekbones, it’s time to bring out the ultimate secret weapon that will give your makeup serious staying power for the entire day.
All you need to do is to just spray a few puffs of this life-transforming holy water on your entire face at the end of your makeup routine and let it work it’s magic.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, $30.00
Makeup Forever Mist & Fix Setting Spray, $30.00
#6 With dry shampoo to the rescue, you can now say goodbye to your oily scalp and greasy hair
For busy sugar babies like me who have no time to wash their hair on a daily basis, dry shampoo sprays are the ultimate holy grails for you to have sexy and bouncy hair at all times.
Before going out on a date with your sugar daddy or at the end of your date night, just bring a dry shampoo spray with you on the go and spray it on your greasy hair whenever you feel like it. This amazing product will soak up all the excess oil and odor in your scalp making your hair look and smell as if you just came out from the hair salon!
Percy & Reed No-Fuss & Fabulousness Dry Shampoo, $16.00
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, $22.00
It might not be easy or cheap to master the art of makeup but once you live by these golden rules on how to sugar proof your makeup, it’ll save you so much trouble and you’ll still look slayin’ at 6 in the morning. Also, your perfect eyeshadow crease and on fleek eyebrows you took forever to blend will thank you for doing so. So do yourself and your sugar daddy a favor, get your allowance, head on to Sephora, step up your makeup game and thank me later. Good luck, sugar sisters.
